Meghan Markle and Serena Williams met 15 years ago when they attended Super Bowl XLIV in 2010. At first, they didn’t form a close bond, but they reconnected in 2014 at another Super Bowl, and since then, they have built a strong friendship.
Regarding the beginning of their friendship, the Duchess of Sussex revealed: “We hit it off immediately, taking pictures, laughing through the flag football game we were both playing in, and chatting not about tennis or acting, but about all the good old-fashioned girly stuff.”

“So began our friendship,” she said, and further added: “She quickly became a confidante I would text when I was traveling, the friend I would rally around for her tennis matches, and the down-to-earth chick I was able to grab lunch with just a couple weeks ago in Toronto.
The 23 time Grand Slam winner received a surprise gift from her longtime friend and didn’t hesitate to show it off on her Instagram Story. In her short video, she was excited and said: “Best surprise of the day – As Ever (Meghan’s food brand).”
Serena wasn’t alone in the video and asked her daughter Olympia, “Do you like this?”. While Olympia’s answer wasn’t clear. Willams couldn’t hold her excitement for the food and said, “Oh my gosh, crepes. I love my tea.”
